Founded and managed by Lorraine Young, an award winning hospitality and events veteran. Lorraine boasts an extensive international career with expertise and experience spanning Australia, Papua New Guinea, Dubai, Thailand and India.
A PROVEN TRACK RECORD
Lorraine has held several management positions including hotel general manager, restaurant advisor, food and beverage director, event planner, banquet, conference and exhibitions director, hospitality trainer, hospitality consultant and successful business owner of a wedding and event company.
In 1990 Lorraine was the Director of Events for the South Pacific Games held in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea (PNG). During that time she organised functions for royalty, foreign embassies, prime ministers, government departments and corporate companies. In 1995 she was head hunted and returned to PNG as the Event Director for the Papal Tour of Pope John Paul II.
Additional key events have included corporate marquees for major race day meetings, the coordination of a corporate Christmas day for 50 plus companies, rave parties, exhibitions, seminars, conferences, gala dinners and seated dining for 1,000 people in marquees.
AWARD WINNING RESULTS
Lorraine has a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, a Diploma in Hospitality, a Diploma in Events from Chisholm Institute, Australia and a certificate in Resort Marketing and Advertising from Cornell University, United States. To stay abreast of changes and trends within the industry, Lorraine updates her knowledge regularly with annual short courses and constant business and industry networking.
As testament to her expertise and commitment to excel, Lorraine won the Restaurant Caterers Industry Association “Catering Consultant of the Year” in 2001.
Lorraine’s success rests in her ability to capture the essence of events by understanding the objectives and desired outcomes, effectively negotiating and maintaining relationships and implementing efficient time and budget management.
